Here’s my most recent project, a lovely solid wood Welsh dresser! Hope you like the before/after. Quite a bit of work went into this one - lots of sanding, painting, varnishing and drawer linings! It’s such a classic piece of vintage decor, when furniture was built to last. I hope it finds a lovely new home soon :-)
The piece is now available to view or buy for £375 at the Stuart Porter Antiques & Craft Centre, 15 Broad Street, Stamford :-)

Would anyone like to see a little before and after for a Friday? Then have a little look below! This vintage tallboy was in a pretty poor state when it came to the workshop. It had loads of potential though, and was a beautifully well-made piece, far too good to throw away! So with a coat (or four!) of paint, a beautiful damask-print lining and new shiny crystal knobs it wasn’t long before it found a new home!

I have another before and after for you today, this charming mirror! As you can see, it needed a bit of TLC. Two coats of white eggshell followed by three of Farrow and Ball’s ‘Bone’ estate eggshell and a matt varnish to finish to be exact, and voilà! I distressed the finish around the edges to let the original pine underneath show through, hope you like :-) If you like it so much you want to take it home, it’s for sale in my Etsy shop here…

So, you may remember a few weeks ago I posted a sneak peek of a before/after I had been working on… Well, good news, it’s finished!
Here’s the before to remind you…

And here’s the After :-)

I loved working on this piece, it is such a beautiful quality piece of furniture. I painted it in the sunshine with several coats of paint, lined the drawers with a beautiful Laura Ashley-print wallpaper and finished with a hard-wearing varnish. I hope it finds a lovely new home soon, if you think you could offer one - or just want to see more pictures of it! - it’s for sale here…
So I was lucky enough to be gifted this gorgeous china cabinet recently, and have been considering what to do with it for a few days now, when I saw this gorgeous cabinet on Design*Sponge, here http://www.designsponge.com/2011/09/sneak-peek-polly-alexandres-london-home.html

I’m thinking off-white paint and chicken wire doors… Watch this space!

Another before and after project, this time a console table, which was pretty dated and in need of a make-over. It seemed to be asking to be painted in a loud colour, and I was kindly gifted a lovely wallpaper to match, which I applied to the top. Results below!

Before:

This little bedside table had dated badly, and was in desperate need of a makeover! I decided to completely change the colour by painting it and also changed the colour of the gaudy brass handle on the front of the piece. Finally, some wallpaper details were added and voila!

This cute little chest of drawers had seen better days, but with a coat of cream paint, new flower knob handles and sanded & waxed drawer fronts, it was given a new lease of life, and a new home!
